The stabiliser used to manufacture chlorine tablets can be very acidic and so, with continual use, there is a risk that acid damage to your hot tub seals and equipment can occur. This is particularly true if the tablets are allowed to come into direct contact with any surface of the tub, filter or skimmer basket and so you should ensure that this never happens.
These 20g slow-dissolving, chlorine tablets are significantly less acidic than many other chlorine tablets so they will reduce the risk of acid damage to your hot tub seals and equipment.
When used in a floating dispenser (or a dispenser built-in to your hot tub specifically for use with chlorine tablets) they provide a safe and convenient method of continuous chlorine dosing.
These tablets will dissolve slowly over a period of 3-5 days, dependent on the water temperature, the flow rate through your dispenser and the bacteria load in the hot tub. They are ideal for maintaining a constant chlorine concentration in the water. However, because chlorine tablets are slow dissolving, when relying on chlorine tablets to sanitise your hot tub it will also be necessary to apply an initial dose of chlorine granules to quickly achieve the required chlorine level necessary to ensure adequate sanitation. Chlorine tablets are then ideal for maintaining the sanitiser level without the need for daily checking
Adjust the tablet dispenser to maintain a chlorine level between 3 - 5 ppm.
Never apply chlorine tablets directly to the hot tub water or directly into the skimmer basket.
NB : It is important to maintain a pH level of 7.2 - 7.8 whilst using chlorine to sanitise your spa. Outside of this range the chlorine will not effectively kill all dangerous bacteria.
