Initial dose : When first filling your hot tub, use bromine granules to give an initial shock dose of sanitizer. Pre-dissolve the weight of granules recommended in the table below in clean water in a clean plastic bucket, agitating well to make sure that the granules are completely dissolved. Apply the solution to the spa water whilst the pumps are turned on to aid distribution of the sanitizer. You should aim to maintain a bromine level of 30ppm for 1 hour. After this time, allow the bromine level to reduce to 3-5ppm. Test the water after 30 minutes and at intervals as required, using bromine test strips dipped into the water. Do not allow anyone to get into the water until the bromine level has reduced to less than 5ppm.

Daily maintenance : Check the bromine level daily and re-apply granules as required to maintain a bromine concentration of 3 - 5 ppm. The amount of product you will need to use is given in the following table.

NB : It is important to maintain a pH level of 7.2 - 7.8 whilst using bromine to sanitize your spa. Outside of this range the bromine will not sanitise effectively.
